Decision Time

So after the rain stopped and the damage was done it soon became decision time. Do we just clean up the mess and put it back to how it was, or do we go to extremes and tear it all out and start over.

They say we haven't had a flood like this in 150 years - what are the chances that this will ever happen again? But what happens if it does?

After seeing the mold and mildew and trying to get rid of the musty smell, we decided we didn't want to have to keep putting up with this, nor did we want to go through this again.

And so the destruction began..... Although we have a very limited budget, we decided to tear it all up - floor and all, install the proper weeping tile, pour a new floor and start building from scratch.



Everything came down - inch by inch, wall by wall



Even the ceiling



and all the "stuff" got hauled up into the garage. Our two car garage turned into one!
